What is Coaching?

Coaching is a unique conversation that helps people sort through choices, clarify goals and move to achieve them. It helps people appreciate the roles they play and the efforts they make to bring about changes that are important to them.

Sessions focus on:

• Discovering what there is to appreciate about your current reality.
• Identifying clues to your preferred future – your dream.
• Designing specific ways to move toward your preferred future.
• Collecting tools that work for you and help you become your own coach.

Coaching is different from therapy or counseling because it focuses on supporting a change process leading to an identified preferred future. Therapy focuses on supporting a client through the process of resolving current or past wounds. Of course, there is some overlap between the two. Coaching has a particular focus on partnering with the client and co-creating a change process.
